*DeSales Community Development Marketing and Communications VISTA - FT

The Marketing and Communications VISTA will enhance DeSales’ public profile, support communication strategies, build awareness of its impact in the community since 1976, and effectively share the story of DeSales’ work developing affordable housing, connecting residents to rental assistance, preventing eviction, and more for those in need. This role includes preparing for the 50th-anniversary celebration in 2026 as part of broader marketing efforts. The VISTA will help develop sustainable plans for ongoing community engagement, create compelling content, and assist with smaller fundraising activities.

DeSales Community Development is a community-based non-profit organization that promotes revitalization, affordable housing and good property management in neighborhoods in and near the City of St. Louis. DeSales was founded in 1976 to serve the Fox Park and Tower Grove East neighborhoods. Though most of its history, DeSales has served these neighborhoods exclusively, gaining a reputation as a leader and innovator among local community development organizations. In recent years the housing corporation has sought to apply its experience in other neighborhoods by building relationships with other community-based non-profits. With its strategic involvement in both property development and management, DeSales has emphasized an entrepreneurial approach in advancing its mission. These lines of business have helped to build a diversified revenue structure based on income earned from activities that are consistent with its mission. DeSales has also been a leader in building collaborative relationships with other community organizations.
